What is the eCommerce Grant?

The scope of the eCommerce grant is to encourage and support enterprises to increase their competitiveness by adopting eCommerce into their daily operations.

This measure represents an opportunity for businesses to exploit their potential to reach new markets nationally as well as internationally. Statistical data indicates that Maltese enterprises have not as yet taken advantage of the island’s strong IT infrastructure and the extensive possibilities it offers SMEs. Digitally transforming your business can facilitate the internationalisation of your business, by reaching new markets through online sales.

In the local scene, e-commerce remains relatively low and local businesses are still transitioning into the e-commerce world. In fact, local enterprises conducting online sales currently stand at 14%.

The measure shall support investment towards the design, development, implementation and delivery of an e-commerce website and/or a mobile application. It may also support an upgrade of an existing website or mobile application to enable online sales/bookings.

To be eligible the end product shall be an e-commerce website/mobile application that must include the following;
